Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby once said, â€Å"I was within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life.† The career of a Veterinarian is a sensational and phenomenal feeling, you’ll be introduced to new people, animals, types of medicines and treatments. This research will describe the different careers in the Veterinary field, what the necessities are to become successful and what type of impact this career has on society. This career is a justifiable choice for people that have a fondness and curiosity for creatures in the Animal Kingdom. People that grow up with family and friends that have the same passion, can drive them further into studying ways to help our furry, scaly and slippery friends. Companion, Equine, Zoologist and Wildlife Biologist, Surgeon and Animal Care are the types of work in the Veterinary field that will be discussed throughout this report. The general duties of a Veterinarian is to treat and dress the animals’ wounds, perform surgery, examinations, diagnose health problems, prescribe medication and carry out euthanization. There are specific duties for these types of veterinarians; A Companion animal veterinarians work on common household animals such as dogs, cats, rodents and birds.
